Tracking Patients with RFID/RTLS
This project evaluates the tracking of disaster patients and equipment with radio frequency identification (RFID) tags in a real-time location system (RTLS). In a disaster situation, it is important to keep track of patients after the initial triage. Patients may be moved to different locations in a hospital in order to receive care or even transferred to another hospital. In this project, after registration, the patient is equipped with an RFID tag that will periodically update the BHEPP system with his or her current location. Each tag is associated with a specific patient, so BHEPP users can easily locate registered patients in the system.
